Medical Marijuana may soon be legal to consume on schools. After Sand Creek High suspended a chronically ill student for inadvertently bringing cannabis on property, the school is re-evaluating its policies. Colorado Springs in the D-49 District is looking at changing its policy to allow medical cannabis products on school property for those with debilitating medical conditions. The policy would allow primary caregivers, parents, or a medical professional hired by the family to administer non-inhalable products. It is thought that an estimated 500 kids would benefit from the policy being implemented. A meeting is scheduled to be held on May 12th and the school is taking input via its website and social media.
