Legal cannabis raises 40 million for schools!

March 28, 2016

Cannabis sales in Colorado are booming! At the end of the fiscal year of 2015, more then 40 million dollars had been raised for school as a result of cannabis legalization. With almost one billion dollars raised (996 million), Colorado had even exceeded it's predictions on revenue gained! When amendment 64 was passed, the people of Colorado voted to let the schools receive investment from the tax dollars and anything left over being given back to the people. With the people of Colorado voting to let the state hold onto the extra tax revenue, this allowed extra funds to be given to schools, youth programs, and drug awareness. This is proving to be a reliable and stable model for the rest of the country, as cannabis legalization, is taking part all over the country with nearly half allowing for some form of MMJ/decriminalization, legalization in 4 states, and legalization in the capital. The future of Cannabis looks bright with smart investments like in education and with crime rates decreasing! Read more about it here at http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Education/2015/1109/Colorado-to-send-extra-marijuana-revenue-to-schools
